Be Still and Know
Pat Brown of Chatham, Ontario, Canada

We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us-and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.  How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. -1 John 3:16-18

Be Still and know that I am God.
Be Still, let Jesus in your heart.
Be Still, reach down to your soul.
Be Still and let go.
For I am your Lord, and I’ll be here by your side.
For I am your Lord, in your heart I will abide.
For I am your Lord, and I’ll teach you My will.
Please let go and be still.
Please let go and be still.

Be Still and know that I am God.
Be Still, pray for those who need your prayers.
Be Still, don’t be afraid to love.
My child I’m watching from above.
For I am your Lord, and I’ll be here by your side.
For I am your Lord, in your heart I will abide.
For I am your Lord and I’ll teach you My will.
Please let go and be still.
Please let go and be still.

Be Still and know that I am God.
Be Still, hold tight to your faith.
Be Still, my promises you’ll see.
Your hopes and dreams shall come alive through Me.
For I am your Lord, and I’ll be here by your side.
For I am your Lord in your heart I will abide.
For I am your Lord, and I’ll teach you My will.
Please let go and be still.
Please let go and be still.

Prayer Phrase

I am about to do a new thing, now it springs forth… (Isaiah 43:19).

Spiritual Practice

A New Thing

Breathe deeply and listen within. Where is the Spirit doing a new thing in you? How do you feel about the new thing that might be emerging? Are you excited, resistant, fearful, hopeful? Take whatever you are experiencing to prayer. Breathe deeply and listen around you. Where is the Spirit doing a new thing in your community? Pay attention to how it feels to discern the Spirit’s activity and presence within and around you.
