A Temple of Peace
Everett Graffeo of Blue Springs, MO, USA

Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom…. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. -James 3:13, 17-18

A Temple of Peace
The home of the people!
People kneel and pray
Before the Altar of Forgiveness
Brothers, sisters, sing and dance,
Voices blend with joy in unknown languages,
Sounds of laughter and clapping spiral upward!
Barriers bow to Nim-we-bo ba Yahweh!
Organ’s Voice rises to join the song of the people.
The collective heart beats to the rhythm of the drums.
The mystery of silence opens darker corners of the soul.
Men, women, youth, and children
feet, hands, minds, and hearts
join in covenant relationship.
chanting, dancing,
living, sharing,
joying, celebrating!
Being
Emmanuel
God with Us!
Hallelujah!

I belong with all that lives.

Spiritual Practice

Deep Belonging

Take a deep breath and pay attention to the web of relationships that sustain your life right now. Remember the people who have formed you. Consider the nourishing food and drink that come to you from the planet. Notice all the lives that touched everything that surrounds you. Offer a prayer of gratitude for connection and belonging with God and all creation.
